This newsletter includes information about community planting days at the new park at the Rodney Reservoir starting this weekend!
WHO WE ARE: Green for the Greater Good is a group of neighbors working to transform the Rodney Reservoir into a beautiful nature-focused park for all to enjoy.
1. COMMUNITY PLANTING DAYS AT THE NEW PARK: REVISED SCHEDULE
The nature-focused park that our community helped design is coming to life at the old Rodney Reservoir and all are invited to take part in community planting days. The original schedule has been revised due to anticipated rain and muddy conditions at the construction site. The sessions on Saturday, April 26th have been cancelled. If you signed up for that date, please register for a new date: Sunday, April 27 or Saturday, May 3. Choose a shift at 10AM or at 1 PM. May 4th has been designated an overflow date and will be opened up if there is demand. Find more information and link to register here.

2. COMMUNITY PLANTING DAY ACTIVITIES
Landscape Architects, Hinge Collective, put a lot of care into developing the forest and meadow designs that were part of the community’s vision for the new park. We are excited about their willingness to host these events! Volunteers will help plant trees and plants at the site, learn about the site overall and about the native ecologies that the park design and plantings are inspired by. This is a chance to get a sneak preview of the not-yet-open park and a taste of the stewardship activities we hope to encourage at the site over time.
3. COMMUNITY PLANTING DAY LOGISTICS
Space is limited to 30 volunteers per session, and registration is required. The park is still an active construction site, so all participants must sign waivers to participate. Children are welcome! Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Youth 16-18 can attend on their own but must have a waiver signed by their legal guardian. Download the waiver here.
Please reach out with any questions you have! We look forward to planting with you at the park!!
